Information When Choosing The Perfect Binoculars For Yourself

Friday, December 26th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

With a myriad of colors and sizes coloring the avian world, it is easy to see why bird watching is one of the most popular hobbies in the world. What you need to make it truly interesting is a good book and a pair of binoculars. A great deal of patience and practice is necessary but once you get the feel, you will so develop your own style and instincts and do not be surprised to find yourself getting addicted to this hobby. These gentle creatures will fly away if you get too close to them so you need a pair of binoculars to help you see the up close. It is good to invest in a good pair that will let you enjoy the birds up close with good clarity.

Find some of the best prices on binoculars here. With a list of auctions you will be sure to get the best price on binoculars. Of course before you buy a new pair be sure you know how to buy binoculars. Be sure to read the guide.

When you are looking to buy a good pair of binoculars for bird watching, go for something branded and although this may seem expensive, just consider it as a long term investment. It is important to choose binoculars that have at least 7x power magnification view - it allows you to experience birds nearer than they really are. Handling versions with magnification strength of 8x and 10x, often even more than 20x can be rather difficult. You will notice that there is a second number after the ‘x’ that could be 35, 40 or even 50.

You can expect more light to enter the binoculars with higher numbers, which gives you clearer pictures. This is because they only have a narrow field of view so it is hard to keep track of the bird when they take flight. Once you have safely found the binoculars you would like to use, then hunt for a good book that has a complete description of the birds in the wild. This is due to the fact that the geographical location of birds varies according to the species and the book will help you understand the types of birds that are available in one specific area, which makes it easier for you to narrow down your search.

When both items are finally in place, you can start your bird watching activity from your home and move on to the birds in the zoo and finally you will be ready to venture off into the wild. It will also be a good idea to join a bird watching club as they organize field trips out of town and go into the forests which allows you to get up close and personal with these creatures in their own natural habitat. If human beings have the power of an eagle’s eyes which can zoom in on a far object then those binoculars would be unnecessary. Since it is virtually impossible for humans to zoom in using their eyes, artificial aids are necessary to help us out but it is practice that will improve your skill and enjoyment of bird watching.

Catalytic converters contain platinum

Friday, December 26th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

You don’t need to be a magician to turn base metal into gold: buying relatively cheap metal scrap will actually enable you to transform base stuff into the precious yellow metal called gold!

Some of the most promising industrial scrap is often overlooked by newcomers in the scrap trade, like catalytic converters. These ugly things can be big business, on account of the interesting fact that one of the prominent contents of (scrap) catalytic converters is platinum… one of the more expensive precious metals as you can see on the Kitco precious metals price quotes. This means that the catalytic converters scrap prices are equally interesting, because of their platinum content. In American Scrap Treasures all sorts of scrap metal (and other materials) are featured, among which catalytic converters. The platinum in these ugly contraptions can be recycled and resold, making the clever dealer a nice little profit.

Scrap metal tends to follow the general price developments of metal - this is especially the case with precious metals like gold, silver and indeed platinum. Following the Kitco trends you’ll see that buying scrap enables you to get in at the bottom of price waves and sell at the top, which is a relatively easy way to make a buck or, for that matter, a euro, quid or peso. This trade is fully international, so business is done worldwide.

Not all buyers of precious scrap metals sell the recycled stuff straight away in its pure condition: many (amateur) jewellers use gold, silver and platinum in their creations, and it’s a pleasing idea that some of the platinum that was hidden in your good old catalytic converter, finishes up adorning the slender neck of a beautiful woman! Precious metals look so much better there!

Friday, December 26th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

If you want to be successful online you have to get traffic to your site for starters. And what is the main ingredient in attaining that traffic, website advertising. Yes, we have to advertise our business in some way, shape or form to get traffic to our sites and products. Sometimes this can be very tricky and expensive at the same time. Luckily your reading this or you might fall prey to ignorance.

There are many people and sites alike that will promise you the world when it comes to web-site advertising for your site. Buyer beware is the advice I give you. Don’t worry though, below I have a few tips and ideas that you can take to the bank.

Tip #1 Get your name or brand out there by writing reviews on products or services in your industry. Over time and if done correctly you’ll establish trust within your industry.

Tip #2 Write press releases on a regular basis about your business and anything pertaining to the field your in. This is more brand recognition than anything else.

Tip #3 Put up an opt-in form on your site to collect the names and email addresses of potential clients. Offer them free advice via a newsletter.

Tip #4 Have a downloadable e book written by your company or a ghost writer and freely give it away to those in your market. This builds brand recognition, trust and loyalty within your market.

Tip #5 Continue to update and maintain your website via SEO, article additions and submissions, product reviews, blog commenting and so forth.

Tip #6 Keep your name and brand in the minds of the people in your market by being where they are. For example, visit and contribute to the top forums in your market.

Tip #7 Use surveys to gather information on exactly what your customers wants and needs are so you can give it to them in the future.

Above are just a few tips that you can take with you when you venture out into the web site advertising abyss. The key with web site advertising on line is to keep your face or brand in front of the people so they become accustomed to it thus building familiarity and trust. This is something that has to be done continuously to keep your company fresh and relevant. Everyday competitors pop up in your market and if you don’t continue to stay in the front of the people in your market, they will. Your competitors are always looking for an advantage to take market share from you, don’t give them the satisfaction.

What Joys a Yorkie Can Bring to You!

Friday, December 26th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

Having a dog can bring many joys to a persons life. My wife and I have a little Yorkie. I was never that guy that liked the small dogs. I wanted the big dog to protect the house and pull me on my skate board. My wife got her way and we got the lap dog.

A few great things about Yorkies:

1)      They are very loyal and love to snuggle.

2)      Easy to potty train on puppy pads, pee pads, or in the yard.

3)      They don’t shed. This is great for me because I have bad allergies.

4)      They are low maintenance and easy to travel with.

After just a few week of living with my Yorkie I became a big fan of them. Many other people in my family now own them. It’s almost contagious, because when others see yours they want one.

The best tip I can give you is when training your dog to use housebreaking pads make sure you give your dog a reward every time she uses them. Make sure you are consistent with your reward. I use little treats. My Yorkie often waits for my to get home for work to use the potty because she wants that treat. They are really smart little dogs.

If you are interested in getting dog I would highly recommend getting a Yorkie, I think you get nothing but long lasting joy and fun for years. Yorkies rule!

Are there any easy ways to Do easy ways to lose weight exist?  It’s common knowledge that diet, cutting down on caloric intake, and exercise, increasing the number of calories you burn, work together as a formula for weight loss.  But sticking to the diet is the hard part.  It won’t be easy, but with a little work it sure is possible.  Here are some tricks to make it easier.

Carry a notebook to jot down everything that passes your lips.  Keeping notes will help you eat less.  Studies show that people eat 15% less when they track everything they eat.  That’s significant.

On average Americans consume 245 calories a day from drinks.  Make the switch to 0 calorie water}.  245 calories a day is nearly 90,000 calories each year.  That’s 25 lbs.  Water isn’t that bad, is it?  Another fact is that despite their calories, drinks like soda and juice don’t trigger a feeling of fullness the way foods do.

Eat five or six smaller meals a day instead of three large meals a day.  Studies show that eating in smaller portions more often results in eating 30% fewer calories.  Furthermore, even the same number of calories eaten in smaller portions during more frequent meals can result in weight loss.  You’re less likely to binge because the body releases less insulin.

Get rid of the at?clothes.  If you don’t have clothing that’s comfortable when you’re heavier, you’re more likely to be reminded to keep slim every time you dress.  purchase a whole new wardrobe|And if you have to buy a whole new wardrobe you’re less likely to gain weight}.

Switch to smaller plates.  It’s been proven that people eat more when more food is in front of them, and they eat less when less food is available|It’s proven that people eat what’s in front of them}.  Smaller plates mean smaller portions, so put the salad plates into use as the main plate.

Try serving meals on the plate, restaurant style, rather than in bowls and on trays.  Again, people tend to eat what’s in front of them.

Don’t eat white bread, sugar or white rice.  Those foods are loaded with carbohydrates which lead to higher blood sugar and weight gain.  Do eat whole grain breads and brown rice.  Don’t worry about the sugar, pretty soon you won’t miss it.

Weight loss isn’t easy, but relatively speaking there are easy ways to lose weight.  Don’t be intimidated if it’s only easier instead of really easy.  If weight loss were easy, everyone would be a supermodel|Don’t think it won’t take a little work.  If weight loss were effortless everyone would be slim all the time}.

Banish those Bags with an Eye on Surgery

Thursday, December 25th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

A common side effect of aging is the development of bags under the eyes. It generally occurs because the protective layer of fat surrounding the eyes begins to sag in response to gravity and decreased elasticity of the skin. This problem not only makes the face look older, but it also gives the person a perpetually tired look. Through an eye bag removal procedure, the patient can look younger and wide-awake.

A Closer Look at the Causes of Eye Bags A variety of factors can actually contribute to the formation of eye bags. The pressure of the fat around the eyes can cause the ligaments, skin, and muscles to become more lax. Sometimes, there is extra fat behind the support wall of the eyelid, which gives them a baggy appearance. In other cases, the relaxed skin itself actually causes the bag because there is simply too much skin in the area. For some, the muscle in the lid has thickened or the upper eyelids form a bag because of drooping eyebrows.

Each of these conditions have specialized names and procedures for correcting them. In many patients, more than one of these conditions exists and all must be fixed in order to improve the appearance of the skin and to remove the bags. Blepharochalasis, for example, is the combination of thinning eyelid skin, protrusion of skin folds in the eyelids, and lid swelling. Dermochalasis, on the other hand, is simply extra skin. Hypertrophy of the orbicularis muscle is when there is an overgrowth of the eyelid muscle and a protrusion of fat. Brow ptosis, on the other hand, is when the upper eyelids are baggy because of drooping eyebrows. A competent surgeon will be able to identify the cause or causes of the eye bags before surgery and discuss options with the patient ahead of time.

The Effects of Eye Bag Removal Procedure Eye bag removal surgery is done to correct the puffy bags that form below a patient’s eyes or drooping upper lids. These bags make the patient look older and tired. For some patients, these eye bags can even interfere with vision. Eye bag removal surgery can remove the puffy and droopy look around the eyes, but it will not eliminate crow’s feet or dark circles under the eyes. In addition, eye bag removal surgery does not lift sagging eyebrows.

The eye bag removal procedure can also be used to create an upper eyelid crease in Asian eyes, but it cannot be used to eliminate natural traits associated with ethnic or racial lineage. This procedure is often used along with other surgeries, such as a browlift of a facelift, to improve the overall appearance of the face and the skin on the face.

Eye Bag Surgery Candidates The best candidates for eye bag surgery are those who are physically fit and realistic in their expectations of what the surgery can offer. Most patients are 35 years or older, but those with a history of baggy or droopy eyelids may have the surgery at a younger age.

Patients coping with certain medical conditions are considered to be more risky when it comes to undergoing eye bag surgery. For example, thyroid problems such as Grave’s disease and hypothyroidism have a greater risk of complications. Dry eye, glaucoma, and a detached retina are also risk factors. Patients with other medical conditions generally considered risky when undergoing surgery, such as circulatory disorders, diabetes, and high blood pressure, are also at a greater risk of encountering complications when undergoing the procedure.

The Procedure The eye bag removal procedure involves several small incisions that are made below the eyelash. This allows the surgeon to remove both excess skin and fat that is causing the bags to appear. Generally, the procedure, which is called blepharoplasty, is performed on both the upper and lower eyelids. In the case of the upper eyelids, a strip of skin may also be removed, but the skin is removed in a natural crease in the eyelid in order to minimize the appearance of scarring.

The eye bag removal procedure usually entails staying the day in the hospital or the night, depending on when the procedure begins.

After the Procedure After completing the eye bag removal procedure, stitches are generally removed about 3 to 7 days after the surgery is completed. After the stitches are removed, the patient can usually resume normal activities.

Remember to always seek Professional Medical care and guidence before following any medical advice.

Mobility scooters and related equipment

Thursday, December 25th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

Due to a rather surprising array of neurological disorders, not to mention the increasing effects of advancing age, I have become sort of less mobile than I was in my younger days. Where I used to be able to effortlessly walk for hours and hours, I now move slowly at a snails pace, for a maximum of one hour, supporting myself with either a cane or a crutch - depending on how I happen to feel that day. Yet I won’t complain: there’s nothing I truly lack in this life, and diminished mobility doesn’t usually bother me.

However, for the longer journeys I presently use an electrical, which definitely makes me feel like a prince or even a king! Relaxedly sitting in a comfortable seat, pleasantly but never haughtly saluting the breathless passers-by, I buzz along at either walking pace or double speed. When I feel social I “walk”, when I really need to be somewhere at a certain time I crank up the little machine.

There are lots of people much worse off than me, when it comes to mobility. I can, though with difficulty, still walk - but a lot of others can’t. Especially for them the electric scooter is a great support, enabling them to be mobile again. There are 3-wheel mobility scooters and 4-wheel mobility scooters, and if you’re seriously considering buying such a machine, I would recommend the 3-wheeled variety. They tend to be somewhat more manoeuvrable on account of their smaller turning radius, which is a great advantage in crowded or narrow spots. I also would advice you to go for batteries with a large capacity: it’s not only unpleasant but also quite embarassing to find yourself without of juice when far away from home!

Apart from mobility scooters, there are many more contraptions and gadgets that make the life of the disabled much easier. Stairlifts, bed lifts, electric wheelchairs, walkers… they all help to make life much more pleasant for the disabled.

Build Your Mailing List

Thursday, December 25th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

Unfortunately, most people are unlikely to revisit your web page without a compelling reason. No doubt, the impulsive nature of our surfing habits make it difficult to remember exactly which pages we have visited.

By leaving the website and not returning, each visitor takes away the money they could spend on your website, which is devastating even if you have 1,000 people a day coming to your site.

Making customers from those visitors is something that you could have accomplished. The bottom line is that your visitor may not come back to your website again unless you convince them to join your mailing list! Sadly, many website owners learn too late that offering great content is not enough.

If you really want to have your visitors return to your website, the best way to do this is by having them subscribe to your mailing list. Even if they are in a hurry, many visitors will still choose to opt-in on your mailing list on their way off your website.

Though they vary, your opt-in form should ask for the visitor’s email address and name. Visitors signed up on the mailing list provide you a way to follow their visit through with an email.

These give you a way to pitch your offer to your subscribers. Increasing your potential customers is the goal, and that goal can be achieved through getting as many subscribers as you can.

A simple way to build your list is through the writing of articles. The web is full of popular article directories, one of which is eZine articles, where people write and submit articles on a variety of topics.

Viral marketing can be rewarding when done through article writing. The articles provide a way to market your product, but more importantly, allow you to show your expertise in the area.

Mailing lists grow through the use of the resource box that is attached to the article. This tool, also called a bio box, should include information about you, such as what your site is about, and the URL of your site.

The URL you include should send visitors to the place on your website where they can sign up for your mailing list in order to maximize the size of your email list. As long as you write a decent article, the publishers of the online sites will approve it and republish your article - along with its helpful resource box.

Viral marketing doesn’t get much easier than that. The details that you include in your article are the key parts to making this an effective tool.

The Growing Trend of Destination Volunteerism

Thursday, December 25th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

Back in 1995, a new organization, Cross-Cultural Solutions (CSS), was started to promote volunteerism in remote parts of the world. A lot of people have worked with CSS since the begining and been to remote parts of the world. The basic idea is increasing to combine volunteering with sight seeing experiences. You can even put together your own trip through Expedia, Orbitz or Cheap Carribean and a top charity organization like the Red Cross.

There are many organizations that are operating who can work out a travel trip for you where you can have good sights to view along and do some good with volunteering to aid the people. They give you travel options to choose from along with the definition of the work and the time frame that you will have to spend at a particular location. The areas of most common interest of volunteers are health care and education.

Most volunteers seem to be interested in traveling to remote destinations rather then their usual vacation spots. Volunteers isn’t just for students but also for executives. They can take their families along as they and as they are more stable financially they can also donate to the people they volunteer. There are a lot of companies operating to arrange these outings, they can now even arrange your desired activities for you like teaching your native language in some remote country for example in India or can opt to become a soccer coach in some remote country. Some organizations have also sent volunteers to Colombia to help the people suffering from the recent landslides. We have also seen a lot media people working in Bolivia in communications.

The choices are limitless for volunteer travelers. There are programs available today, which can make your volunteer vacation very low cost or even free in some cases. Arrange a trip with the Red Cross, Unicef or Unitd Way and find a discounted trip with Travelocity Coupons. If you like volunteering and traveling, try the combiation of both.

Natural Pain Remedies - A Wise Choice

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 | Places | No Comments

DISCLAIMER - The information in this article is intended for your general knowledge only and is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment. Always consult a medical professional before taking action.

Being in pain is no fun. Not only does it make life all that more difficult but often times the doctor prescribed medication brings with it side effects and other unwanted problems that we have to deal with. Thankfully there are a number of all natural pain relief products on the market that are kind to your body and just as effective as the regular ‘drugs’, read on to find out more.

When we have an ache or pain we usually end up paying a visit to our doctor right? And nine times out of ten our doctor will prescribe a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug to relieve the pain. While these drugs may provide initial relief there are often unwanted side effects and certainly when used over any period of time these drugs have the potential to do serious damage.

Tests have shown that these non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can have a serious effect on the liver, kidneys and intestines and can cause such problems as cramping, headaches, stomach ulcers, internal bleeding and even death! When taking Celebrex for example the chances of suffering a heart attack or stroke are 2.5 to 3.4 times higher depending on the dose.

The good news is that all natural alternatives are readily available. These natural pain relievers take away the risks associated with conventional pain medication and relieve your pain by utilizing what is called Systemic Enzyme Therapy. Not only does this natural therapy leave you without nasty side effects but it also aids in the regeneration and rebuilding of damaged tissues, rather than just masking the pain in the hope that the body heals itself quickly.

Although many doctors are still to acknowledge the effectiveness of natural pain treatments it is high time that we realize that we don’t need to put both our short and long term health at risk by continuing to consume these drugs in copious amounts. If we stop to think about not only the side effects that we feel straight away but also the hidden effects of conventional pain medication we should soon realize that the natural way is the best choice.

Personally I find it both amusing and scary that when I first had trouble with back pain I was prescribed Panadeine Forte by the truckload and told to take Nexium each morning to put a protective lining on my stomach! If that doesn’t say something about the damage possible with regular pain medication I don’t know what does!

Don’t put your body at risk any longer! For more information on the best natural pain relief please head on over to Back Pain Products and check out the very popular Heal N Soothe. Your body will thank you for it!
