Pursuing Alternative Forms of Energy

Monday, April 20th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

Record high prices at American gas pumps and continued global strife in the Middle East, Russia, Nigeria, and other areas of importance to the oil-driven economy have made it clear to Americans that we are in need of developing many new avenues of alternative energy. In short, we need to reduce our dependency on oil, for it is ultimately finite and, frankly, the cheap sources of oil (not all oil—just the stuff that is cheap to remove from the earth) are running out.

Energy consultants and analysts are insistent that cheap oil has “peaked” or is very soon going to peak.  What this means for us is an expensive future—unless we can find new sources of powering our mechanized and electronic civilization. In other words, we need alternative energy ideas.

We must also switch to alternative forms of energy because our present forms are too damaging to the atmosphere. While it is still debatable that the global warming trend is sustained by the activities of mankind, we certainly do contribute at present to the destruction of the environment and to things like air pollution with our energy sources as they are.

Coal is another source of energy that we need to wean ourselves off of — again, it is finite, and it is filthy, and the mining of it is dangerous and environmentally disruptive. We can also explore new streamlined methods for producing electricity that we presently generate so much of via hydro-power so that we are less disruptive of the environment when we have need of constructing things such as large dams.

Developing nations which have turned industrialized in recent decades especially will need the benefits of alternative energy research and development, for they are presently doing much more environmental damage than the United States. The United States, Japan, and some European nations have been implementing studies into and programs for the development of alternative energy sources, and are therefore already leading the way in doing less environmental damage.

Developing nations such as China and India need to look to Japan and the West as examples of what research and development to give government backing and private investment currency to. We could also add great robustness to our own economy by being at the forefront of such alternative energy sources development and then marketing the technologies and services to nations like India, China, and Brazil..

Biofuels from things like “supertrees” and soybeans, refined hydroelectric technology, natural gas, hydrogen fuel cells, the further building of atomic energy plants, the continued development of solar energy photovoltaic cells, more research into wind-harnessed power—all of these are viable energy sources that can act as alternatives to the mammoth amounts of oil and coal that we presently are so dependent on for our very lifestyles. The energy of the future is green.

If saving money is in the front of the mind; then somewhere domestic might be a good idea. Within Great Britain there is much to visit, if not the greatest traditional vacation resorts. These exist but you certainly can’t be sure of any hotweather. But what about a sojourn in the Scottish lakes or going to the amazing lake District? No need to get travel money if you’re not going too far. Or you could equally across the channel to Ireland via ship.

So if you choose not to go on a foreign holiday, what is there to do this Summer? Well if the key thing is to spend as little folding stuff as possible, you could do worse than to visit some relatives or friends you have not seen for yonks. As long as they have numerous rooms you don’t have to pay for a hotel and you can get your meals homemade and not have to pay eaterie prices. Or you can think of new activities whilst you’re at home. Rather than just rent dvds online , you might take up a new activity, perhaps exercise more such as take running seriously. You might take up reading – do those things you’ve always wanted to do but put aside.

Do you have high cholesterol?

Monday, April 20th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

Do you have high cholesterol?

If you do you may be aware of how many different ways it can damage your health.

So do you need to worry about foods high in cholesterol?

This is a vexed question and one that both sides of the medical community seem to argue about. On the one hand there are plenty of people who say that dietary cholesterol is not what causes the problems, but the cholesterol we manufacture in our own bodies.

On the other hand there are experts who suggest you treat any foods high in cholesterol with a fear and loathing normally reserved for sharks - in other words avoid at all costs.

The experts who claim that dietary cholesterol is not as big a problem as many people think, say this:

We do not eat enough cholesterol for our bodies’ normal daily usage. So our bodies produce the shortfall. If we eat foods high in cholesterol then our bodies make less since the shorftall is less. When we reduce, or eliminate foods high in cholesterol, you know the usual suspects, egg, butter, dairy, then the body has to crank its own production up a notch. In other words the body self-regulates, which makes sense, but is it right?

It’s claimed that most of the time eating foods high in cholesterol does very little to our blood cholesterol levels. So a lower cholesterol diet may not help you all that much after all.

All of that is great, but what do you if you’re not sure which side to believe? After all, they can’t both be right, can they?

This is where you should consult your own doctor. High cholesterol levels, if left unchecked, can be very detrimental to your health, so it pays to find out as much as you can about opposing views. Ultimately you’re going to have to make your own choice, in conjunction with advice from your doctor, but at least if you’re well informed about the issues you can make your choice from a position of knowledge.

The information in this post is provided for entertainment and information purposes and is no substitute for medical advice. As always with your health, you should seek the advice of a qualified medical practitioner.

Pentaxyl Skin Creme

Monday, April 20th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

Pentaxyl claims to offer many benefits to the user, including diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles and reducing the appearance of stretch marks. This cosmeceutical is also said to be effective in improving skin hydration, firmness, texture and skin discoloration. Some users have reported seeing improvement in acne, burn and chicken pox scars as well. The product is sold through a handful of online retailers, and sells for about $72 at the time of this review.

We were unable to find an official online presence for pentaxyl that offered much specific information about the product. Most of the data we were able to locate came from online retailers offering the product. We could not find any customer testimonials, research information or policies regarding any sort of money back guarantee on the product. Unfortunately, a lack of information like this leaves the consumer at a distinct disadvantage, since it is difficult to find good evidence of the effectiveness of this product. Instead, we will need to rely on the ingredient list to see if Pentaxyl can deliver what it promises.

HGH was discovered in the 1920s and first isolated in 1956. In 1958, an endocrinologist at the New England Medical Center first injected the hormone in a growth-stunted child, and the child soon began to grow. Thousands of growth-stunted children with HGH-deficiency were treated in the decades that followed, using HGH derived from the pituitary glands of human cadavers. Treatment of HGH-deficient children ceased in the 1980s because biological contamination caused a few of the children tragically to become infected with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), known today as “mad cow” disease in England. [2] Researchers turned their attention to creating a safe form of HGH using then-emerging recombinant-DNA techniques. In 1985, the first bioengineered growth hormone, called “Protropin,” was produced at Genentech in California. In 1986, researchers at Eli Lilly in Indiana successfully created “Humatrop,” the first lab-made human growth hormone that is 100% identical to nature’s prime hgh: a single chain of 191 amino acids. Both companies share recombinant-HGH patent rights.

While Pentaxyl is a bit on the pricey side, it does contain proven anti-aging ingredients that may bring the user some positive results. However, with little information online about Cellular Laboratories research, some consumers may prefer a product with more testimonials and company information to back it up.

Take Surveys for Money and get Money for Surveys!

Sunday, April 19th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

Recession got you down? Need more cash? Why not take surveys for cash!

A good way to develop a supplemental income source on the Internet is to join the tens of thousands of consumers like you and me who participate in paid online surveys. If you can send and receive e-mails, you have enough technical knowledge.

The reason that this is possible is because large companies absolutely must know what consumers, especially the consumers that buy THEIR products or services, are thinking. Most such companies never come into direct contact with the people that ultimately buy what they are selling.

And the MUST KNOW what consumers think and prefer. They have to know this to design new products, improve old products and know which advertising campaigns are working and which are not!

The only way to get people to take the time to sit down and fill out survey questionnaires is to pay them! Typical surveys pay $10 to $25 and take 7 to 18 minutes to fill out. Take a $10 and a $25 survey a day and you’ll make over $1,000 in a month!

So you could start your own get paid to fill out survey business.

So take surveys for money and put some extra money in your pockets!

Why You Should Let Your Body Detox Naturally

Sunday, April 19th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

An unhealthy lifestyle is not the only style that can benefit from a good body detox regimen once in a while, even the most healthy people can benefit . A body detox regimen can help a body achieve its optimum efficiency and increase your immune system. While it’s true that the body does detoxify itself naturally, we seem to be adsorbing toxins into our bodies at an alarming increasing rate; a rate that is higher than our bodies can manage on their own.

Regularly ingested substances like coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, preservatives, additives, and certain medicines combine to produce a dirty or toxic body. In order for the body to continue detoxing these pollutants, we have to limit our intake. We just need to know what products, foods, and environments that will cause harm to us, once identified we can limit our intake and exposure. Our environment has become too much for our bodies.

Too many pollutants in the body will make you feel tired, moody, and can affect every aspect of your life. Symptoms include;

• Lethargic, constant napping
• Lack of attention
• Irritability
• Sudden moments of forgetfulness

You need to manage your body and life and accomplish this naturally. There is no amazing vitamin or pill that can be taken that is going to make a difference in one day. . This is the healthiest way, and the cheapest.

Natural detoxification is perfectly safe for anyone and will make you a healthier, livelier person. Every year you should make an effort to begin and complete a detox body ritual. However, before beginning any body detox program and especially anyone that is pregnant, has illness such as diabetes, or cancer you should consult their physician before you start.

Things To Mull Over Well Before Buying Different Styles Of Gazebos

Saturday, April 18th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

If you are fortunate enough to have a gazebo in your yard then you already know the great benefits. It is a great place to sit and unwind after a long and grueling day at the job. A gazebo is also a wonderful addition to any landscaping plans. Gazebos are more than just a pretty structure though. They can be a great place to have family get togethers and other family activities. Some people use their gazebos for romantic get aways, even if they are only getting away to the back yard. Gazebos are becoming more and more popular these days and their popularity continues to grow. With this being the case, what type of gazebo is right for you and your family.

One question you want to ask yourself before you purchase a gazebo is can this structure hold up in the weather environment where I live? This is a question that some may not ask when they are considering purchasing a gazebo. Let’s say that you live in an area of the country that is extremely windy. Be sure not to pay too much for gazebo plans. You want to make sure that before you purchase a gazebo that you are getting the right material gazebo with the proper structure so that the wind does not blow it down. You would hate to buy a gazebo and have it blow away, or worst blow into your house. This would be less than ideal.

Another important question you should ask yourself is do you want to have a bug screen around your gazebo? If you live in an area of the country that has a major mosquito problem you may want to consider a bug screen for your gazebo. Drawing up square gazebo plans should not be that hard to do. When you are throwing a family get together, the last thing you want is to have it ruined by mosquitoes or other bugs biting everyone. If this is the case you want to make sure that your gazebo either has a bug screen or can at least handle a bug screen if you so choose to put one on there.

A third important question to ask before purchasing a gazebo is how will it be anchored to the surface that it rest on? There are three popular surfaces that people tend to put their gazebos on. One of the surfaces is a wood deck, another is a slab of concrete and the third is pavers. An outdoor gazebo may need to have shelter from insects. Make sure you know ahead of time which surface you are going to be placing your gazebo because each of these surfaces will need a different set of equipment that will anchor the gazebo. This is key because you want your anchor to be sturdy and secure so that your gazebo does not topple or shift from one side or another.

The last question that you may want to ask is what size gazebo do I want in my backyard? This is one of the easier questions to answer. Gazebos come in all different sizes, shapes, materials and colors. Be sure that you measure the space in which you plan to place your gazebo before you buy it. You would not want to start constructing your gazebo and find out that there is not enough space for it to properly fit.

Is Freelance Writing Your Cup of Tea?

Saturday, April 18th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

My online adventure began with freelance writing. Although that was more than 3 years ago, my freelance gigs helped me quit my full time job and launch my Internet marketing business as well. You should try freelance writing as a way to get cash flow.

Although there a really good freelance writing tips available, in this article let me give you and idea of what you can do:

  1. Become a ghostwriter for other people’s books and ebooks
  2.

  3. Write articles for website / blog owners
  4.

  5. Become a regular columnist for offline / online media in various topics
  6.

  7. Become a paid blogger using get paid to blog like Review Me
  8.

  9. Become an editor / proofreader and help improve someone else’s work
  10.

  11. Become a web copywriter and charge for every web copy written
  12.

Being an editor requires more of a critical eye and amazing grasp of grammar and writing styles. This is a skill not everyone, even world-class writers, possess. Since copywriting involves a lot of creative thinking, you may not be able to get opportunities easily. Every other type of writing however, is a great opportunity for anyone who can construct a proper sentence in English.

Therefore there are only three types of writing jobs you should focus on.

Ghost writing can potentially add between a few hundred to a few thousand dollars into your bank account every month, but the flip side to this is that no one will ever know who you are or appreciate the work you’ve done. A big market of ebook publishers are looking for ghost writing services.

Writing on blogs and other online media is a great idea as well. If you write for blogs, chances are you get a link back to your own site. By doing so you expose yourself and your name, while building credibility and repertoire. Writing on blogs or other places where you get credited for your writing is much better in terms of building a long-term career.

Another way of making money from freelance writing is get paid to blog. The basic idea is that you have your own blog, and look for pportunities in paid blogging networks. Advertisers want to get the word out about their products, and they are willing to pay bloggers to write about them on their blogs. How much you can charge for each article depends on the reach and popularity of your blog.

The plus side to this is that technically you own the blog posts you have written, which means you can always make money from your growing blog with Google Adsense or even affiliate offers.

Mega Trendy and Functional Diaper Bags

Thursday, April 16th, 2009 | Places | No Comments

Formerly, parents often feared going out of the house because they didn’t want to get caught carrying the bulky, unappealing diaper bag. The extremely silly and dreadful design doesn’t help too. The traditional diaper bags were worn on the shoulders, made of plastic, oversized with only one central pocket. It was pretty difficulty to organize because the small baby products get mixed up with the larger ones. The bottles tend to fall over during transport because older versions don’t have the cylindrical bottle pockets yet.

Lucky for us this pink toile diaper bag seems to have developed into something stylish yet extremely useful that mom or dad can’t be without it. Diaper bags are not supposed to just hold diapers. In fact, they should be spacious enough to hold other crucial baby stuff including baby bottles, burp cloths, outfits, bibs, wipes, diaper cream and baby powder. Some parents like to bring tiny playthings, magazines and snacks. All of these should be able to fit a diaper bag so that mommies and daddies won’t have a hard time keeping their babies spotless, snug and occupied. Also, your diaper bag should come along with a diaper pad. This would make changing a lot simpler and convenient.

Freshly Released diaper bags are not just infant ornament but a fashion statement. They come in limitless shades, designs, patterns and fabric types. Diaper bags can now match the charm and appeal of your babies. Usually worn as a shoulder bag, numerous brands are now introducing messenger types, backpacks and totes too.

Choosing a specific diaper bag can be quite overwhelming because of the unending alternatives.
